According to the Geosphere weather forecast, the next three days will be sunny and warm in early summer, with maximum temperatures of 29 and 30 degrees expected on Friday and Saturday. However, local rain showers or isolated thunderstorms are possible, even on Thursday, the public holiday. From Sunday, a cold front will move in from the northwest, and the weather will become much cooler and unsettled across the country. The new week will also start cool, according to a statement on Wednesday.
On May 1st, the sun will shine throughout and often remain cloudless. During the day, spring clouds will form, especially over the hills and mountains. South of the main Alpine ridge in eastern Styria, southern Burgenland, and Carinthia, isolated rain showers, some of which will be thundery, are to be expected. The wind will usually be light. It will be warm during the day after early morning temperatures of between four and twelve degrees, with highs reaching 22 to 28 degrees.
Up to 30 degrees on Saturday
Friday will also be mostly sunny throughout the country, but in the afternoon, cumulus clouds will often increase, and there will be isolated showers and thunderstorms, especially in the mountains and hills. These are most likely in the inner Alpine region, as well as in the eastern Styrian hills and neighboring southern Burgenland. The wind will be mostly light from south to west. Four to twelve degrees are expected in the morning, then 23 to 29 degrees during the day.
It will continue to be warm: on Saturday, the daytime highs will be 22 to 30 degrees, and eight to 16 degrees in the morning. After a sunny first half of the day, however, denser clouds will move in from the west. By midday at the latest, there will be a few rain showers, especially in the mountains and hills, and occasionally thunderstorms. In the eastern lowlands, it will remain dry in many places until the evening. The wind will be mainly moderate to brisk from south to west.
Cold front arrives on Sunday
On Sunday, a cold front from the northwest will bring significantly lower temperatures across the country. There will also be some rain showers and isolated thunderstorms. It will stay dry the longest in the south. The wind will continue to blow moderately to briskly from the south to the west. It will be between nine and 16 degrees in the morning, with daily highs of 14 to 24 degrees from north to south.
The new week will start cloudy, cool,, and wet. There will be little sunshine on Monday, most likely briefly in the morning or evening. In the country’s east, winds will be moderate to brisk from westerly directions; otherwise, they will be only weak. Early temperatures will be between six and eleven degrees; during the day it will be eleven to eighteen degrees at most.
